Nicholas Peters

Nicholas is the principal advisor on every Peters & Associates representation. A licensed Broker-in-Charge in North Carolina and licensed in South Carolina, he has spent his entire career inside Charlotte's luxury market — long enough to have represented multiple generations within the same family.

  1. 2002

    Founded the practice in Charlotte

Began representing buyers and sellers in Myers Park, Eastover, and Dilworth at a time when the city's luxury market was still defined by a small circle of advisors.

  2. 2008

    North Carolina Broker-in-Charge

Earned Broker-in-Charge designation, accepting fiduciary supervision of the firm's representation standard for every transaction that bears the Peters name.

  3. 2014

Expanded to Lake Norman & South Carolina

Licensed in South Carolina and built a dedicated waterfront practice across The Peninsula, The Point, River Run, and Lake Wylie — extending direct representation to dual-market clients.

  4. 2018

    Vertically integrated the ecosystem

Co-founded Peters Custom Homes and Emerald & Oak Design alongside Miriam, allowing clients to commission, build, design, and represent significant residences under one accountable principal.

  5. 2022

    $300M+ in career sales

Surpassed $300M+ in combined career volume across 600+ combined transactions in 29 cities — without a junior team, a call center, or a single inherited lead.

  6. Today

    Principal advisor on every engagement

Continues to personally negotiate, tour, and close every Peters & Associates representation. No layered teams. No handoffs.

Co-Founder · Broker in Charge

Miriam Peters

Miriam shapes the editorial standard, listing presentation, and client experience that have made Peters & Associates a reference point for Charlotte's luxury market. Her work establishes how every significant residence represented by the firm is seen, written about, and remembered.

  1. Co-Founder

    Defined the brand standard

Established the editorial visual language that distinguishes Peters & Associates from team-based brokerages — a house style closer to a magazine masthead than a real estate marketing kit.

  2. Creative Direction

    Listing presentation discipline

Personally art-directs photography, drone, film, copy, and print for every significant listing — never delegated to a third-party marketing service.

  3. Editorial Strategy

    Founded The Journal

Conceived and edits the firm's long-form editorial platform, now one of the most cited luxury real estate journals in the Carolinas.

  4. Design Fluency

    Emerald & Oak Design

Leads creative direction across the design entity — informing how the firm advises clients on architectural specification, materiality, and estate-grade interior commissioning.

  5. Client Experience

    Curated showings & private events

Designs the white-glove showing experience — from seamless tour logistics to thoughtfully coordinated visits that help qualified clients explore homes across the active Canopy MLS.

Advisory Philosophy

The principles that shape every representation.

01

Principal-led, always

Every Peters & Associates client is represented directly by a founding principal. No assistants holding files. No unlicensed stand-ins covering showings. The advisor on the phone is the advisor at the closing table.

02

Precision before volume

We accept a finite number of representations each year so that every engagement receives the attention it deserves. Quiet markets, full-market coverage, and bespoke seller campaigns require time we are unwilling to ration.

03

A vertically integrated point of view

Because we also build, design, and curate the surrounding ecosystem, our counsel reflects a working knowledge of construction, finish, and architectural intent — not a script.

04

Discretion as a service

Most of what we do is never publicly marketed. Clients who require confidentiality — for personal, professional, or competitive reasons — receive a representation built around it.

Frequently Asked

About the principals.

Who owns Peters & Associates, Inc.?

Peters & Associates, Inc. is independently owned by Nicholas Peters and Miriam Peters. The firm is not a franchise, satellite office, or branded extension of a larger brokerage — it is a privately held Charlotte luxury real estate advisory.

Will I work directly with Nicholas or Miriam, or with an assistant?

Every representation is led personally by a founding principal. Nicholas serves as principal advisor and Miriam as Broker in Charge. Our licensed associates support the file, but they never replace the principal on it — there is no rotating coverage and no call center.

How is this different from a typical luxury real estate team?

Most luxury 'teams' are sales organizations — a name partner with a roster of agents who handle the actual work. Peters & Associates is the inverse: the founders execute the work, and the surrounding ecosystem (custom homes, design, advisory) exists to support that direct relationship.

What categories of clients do you represent?

Founders, executives, athletes, entertainers, multi-generational families, and relocating households commissioning, acquiring, or divesting residences typically priced from $1M to $25M+ across Charlotte, Lake Norman, Union County, and select Carolina markets.
